Creator Stakes vs affiliate commission: which pays more?
A commission is cash now, a stake grows with the brand. We work out honestly when each reward pays more.
Two ways to get rewarded
With affiliate marketing you get a percentage of every sale through your link or code, often around 10%. You usually receive that money within a few weeks.
With a Creator Stake you don't get a percentage but a stake in the brand's growth. For every € 20, € 15 or € 10 in net sales with your code (the brand chooses) you get 1 stake, worth € 1 at the start. If the brand grows, your stake grows with it. You receive the added value in cash: within 5 years at the latest the brand buys back your stakes at their value at that moment, or earlier when the brand is sold.
An honest example
Say you sell € 10,000 worth of one brand's products in a year. With a 10% commission you get € 1,000, straight away.
With Creator Stakes you earn 500 stakes (€ 10,000 ÷ € 20). What they pay depends on the brand's growth, using one fixed formula. If the brand becomes worth 2× as much, you get € 500. At 3× growth € 1,000, at 5× growth € 2,000 and at 10× growth € 4,500. If the brand picks Turbo (1 stake per € 10), the same sales earn you 1,000 stakes and everything doubles.
If the brand doesn't grow, your stake pays nothing. You don't lose money, because you pay nothing. But you didn't get a commission either.
When is a stake smarter?
A stake pays off most with young brands that grow fast. Those are exactly the brands that often have little budget for creators, while you help them grow. With a stake you share in what you help build.
Also important: your stakes stay yours if you stop promoting but stay in the plan, and also if the brand ends things while you did nothing wrong. They only lapse if you leave the plan yourself or delete your account, or in case of fraud or bad publicity. See how it works for creators. Everything you sell today could be worth much more in a few years.
When is commission smarter?
Do you need the money now, or are you promoting a big brand that barely grows anymore? Then a fixed commission is often the better choice. Certainty today is worth something too.
That is why many creators choose a mix: commission with big, stable brands, and stakes with young brands they truly believe in.
Tips for choosing
Look at the brand's growth. On the marketplace you can see per plan how the brand is growing and how recent its figures are. Choose brands that fit your audience, because a good fit sells better. And always run a few scenarios with the calculator on the site. Ready to start? Create a free profile.
